What AlignerPro is

AlignerPro helps clear aligner users track wear time, tray changes, progress photos, reminders, calendar entries, wear insights and optional backups. It does not provide dental or orthodontic advice, and it is not a replacement for guidance from your dentist or orthodontist.

What the app stores locally

The app stores its data in private storage on your device. This may include:

• Treatment setup details, including tray count, tray dates and active tray.
• Wear sessions, timer state, daily logs, notes and calendar entries.
• Reminder settings, theme settings and other app preferences.
• Progress photo records, saved photos and generated thumbnails.
• App lock settings, if you enable biometric or device lock protection.

Progress photos and tray data

Photos you take or import in AlignerPro are saved in the app's private storage so they can be organised by tray, date and photo angle. If you import a photo from your device gallery, the app saves its own copy for progress tracking. Your original gallery photo stays where it is.

Local backup and restore

When you export a local backup, the app creates a backup file containing the local app database, settings, timer preferences and progress photo files. You choose where that backup file is saved. AlignerPro does not upload that backup to its own server.

Password protection is optional. If you enable it, the backup is encrypted on your device before it is saved. If you leave it off, the backup is not encrypted, so anyone with access to the file may be able to access its contents. AlignerPro cannot recover a forgotten backup password.

Restoring a backup replaces the local data on the device with the data from the selected backup file.

Depending on your device and the location you choose, the system file picker may let you save a backup to local storage or to a cloud-backed file provider, such as iCloud Drive on iOS. If you choose a cloud-backed location, that provider may upload and store the backup according to your account settings and its own privacy policy. AlignerPro does not send these manually exported backups to its own server.

Google Drive backup

Google Drive access is optional. It begins only if you select Google Drive as your backup location and approve the Google consent request. You can choose a folder instead without connecting Google Drive.

AlignerPro requests the Google Drive drive.file OAuth permission (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file). The app creates a visible folder named AlignerPro Backups in your Google Drive. This permission allows AlignerPro to access only files and folders it creates or that you explicitly authorise. It cannot browse, read or modify unrelated files in your Google Drive.

Password protection is optional for Google Drive backups. If you enable it, AlignerPro encrypts each new backup on your device before upload. Backups created without password protection are not encrypted. Changing this setting affects new backups only and does not change existing files. Google Drive data is used only to provide backup, restore, retention and related features you request. AlignerPro does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising.

Google Drive credentials and backup contents are sent directly between the app, Google and your device. They do not pass through an AlignerPro backend server. Google sign-in credentials are managed on your device by Google's sign-in services.

You can change the backup location or turn off automatic backup in AlignerPro. You can also revoke AlignerPro's access through your Google Account at any time. Revoking access prevents future Drive backups until you reconnect. It does not automatically delete existing backup files. If you delete files from the AlignerPro Backups folder, those backups will no longer be available to restore.

AlignerPro's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Optional device calendar integration

If you enable device calendar integration and grant calendar access, AlignerPro can copy tray-change dates and appointments to a calendar you choose. Appointment entries can include dates, times, notes, locations and reminders. Calendar access lets the app find available calendars and create, update or remove its calendar entries.

These entries are stored outside AlignerPro's private storage. If your chosen calendar syncs with an account or is shared, its provider and sharing settings determine where those entries are stored and who can see them. You can manage or delete copied entries in your calendar.

Whether data is sent to servers

AlignerPro does not use its own servers to store treatment data, timer history, reminders or progress photos. Core tracking data stays on your device unless you choose to back up, export, enable device calendar integration or send something yourself.

Optional actions and service connections may involve other providers. Google Drive backups are sent directly to your Google Drive without passing through an AlignerPro backend. On Android, Premium purchases and restores use Google Play. On iOS, Premium purchases and restores use Apple's App Store through StoreKit. Feedback emails are sent through your chosen email provider, and crash reports are sent to Firebase Crashlytics so we can identify and fix technical problems.

AlignerPro does not sell personal data. Third-party services used for these functions are required to handle user data consistently with their applicable privacy terms, data-protection obligations and the purposes described in this policy.

Website analytics and cookies

This website uses Google Analytics only if you choose Allow analytics in the cookie banner. Analytics is disabled until then, and rejecting analytics does not affect how the site works.

Google Analytics helps us understand which pages are viewed, whether guide pages are useful, and when people click through to Google Play, the App Store or email support. It may also show aggregated browser, device and approximate location reporting from standard website data. We do not send form contents, email addresses, URL query strings or user-provided text to Google Analytics.

The website does not use Google Signals, advertising personalisation or user-provided data collection.

The Google Analytics property is configured to keep event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months. The user data retention period resets when someone returns to the site.

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_... to recognise repeat visits and keep session information. These cookies may last for up to 2 years unless you reject analytics, withdraw consent or clear them in your browser.

Your analytics choice is stored in your browser's local storage. You can change it at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. Rejecting analytics asks the browser to clear Google Analytics cookies for this site and prevents future analytics events from being sent.

Premium purchases

On Android, AlignerPro Premium is purchased through Google Play. On iOS, AlignerPro Premium is purchased through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. When you view, buy or restore Premium, the app connects to the relevant store to show pricing, complete the purchase and check whether the store account owns the upgrade.

Payment details are handled by Google Play or Apple, depending on your platform. AlignerPro does not receive or store your card details. The app receives the purchase or entitlement information needed to unlock Premium and stores local Premium status on your device so Premium features can stay unlocked after purchase.

Feedback emails

If you email feedback@alignerpro.app, we receive the email address you send from and anything you include in the message. If you send feedback from inside the app, the email may include optional diagnostic details such as app version, build number, operating system version and device model.

Crash and error reporting

AlignerPro uses Firebase Crashlytics for technical crash and error reporting. Reports include crash traces, app version, operating system version, device information and installation identifiers. This information is used only to identify and fix technical problems. It is not used for advertising. Treatment records, progress photos and backup contents are not attached to crash reports.

Crashlytics is used for crash and error reporting only. AlignerPro does not use Firebase Analytics in the Android or iOS app.

Permissions

The app asks for permissions only when they are needed for app features:

• Camera: used to take progress photos.
• Photos or photo library: used only when you choose to import progress photos from your device.
• Notifications: used for wear reminders, tray switch reminders, appointment reminders and timer status.
• Calendar: used only if you enable device calendar integration to copy and manage tray-change dates or appointments in a calendar you choose.
• Biometric or device lock: used only if you enable app lock in settings. Authentication is handled by the device, such as Face ID, Touch ID or Android biometrics; AlignerPro does not receive or store your biometric data.

On Android, foreground services keep timer status available through a persistent notification while tracking is active. They also support ongoing backup and timelapse export tasks with progress notifications.

On iOS, active timer status may be shown through a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and, on supported iPhone models, the Dynamic Island. This uses the timer state already stored by AlignerPro on your device and does not send your treatment or timer history to an AlignerPro backend server.

Data deletion and clearing

You can clear app data inside AlignerPro from Settings > Data > Clear all data. This deletes local treatment data, trays, wear sessions, daily logs, appointments, reminders, settings and app-stored progress photos on that device.

On Android, you can also clear local data through Settings > Apps > AlignerPro > Storage > Clear data. On iOS, deleting AlignerPro from your device removes the app's local data from that device; using iOS's Offload App feature may preserve app documents and data for a later reinstall.

Uninstalling the app may remove local app data from the device. Backup ZIP files you created yourself are outside the app after export, so you need to delete those files wherever you saved them.

Google Drive backups remain in the AlignerPro Backups folder until you delete them. Disconnecting AlignerPro or clearing local app data does not itself delete those Drive files.

Clearing local app data or deleting the app may remove the local Premium status cache, but it does not cancel or delete the store purchase. Premium can be restored through Google Play on Android or the App Store on iOS if the same store account still owns the upgrade.
